DVD rentals from Redbox, in case you are unaware, cost a cool dollar per night, and are easy to pick up and easy to drop off. These Redbox units hang out at Walgreens, Walmarts, and McDonalds all over the country. For video game rentals, you will find yourself paying $2.00 per night, which for long term, would be a bit steep. But imagine if you could rent the game for one night, test it, and then go buy it if you like it. I have, more than once, bought a PS3 game only to decide I hate it. My only recourse is to trade it in and take a 50% hit at Game$top. I would much rather pay $2.00 extra rather than loose $25 on a trade in.
Right now, you can find game rentals in Reno, Nevada, and the selection is slim. I am sure they are testing how many games are rented, stolen, damaged, and lost. If the test goes well, I am assuming we could see a coast-to-coast roll out by the end of the year.

Thanks Chris...Beautiful idea regarding video game rentals, before buying we can test the product for $2 a night. If we like it and have a thought of continuing for longer period then we can go buy...

I love gaming. I love to spend my idle time with playing a game. Gaming decrease my boring day. Gaming burn my sadness. Gaming give me a happiness. Gaming is one of the best in my life and my heart. I do like play a game with my friend. The genre of game that i like is War. I play it with my playstation console. That was a great genre. I play just like a soldier. I have finished many of war game genre. But sometimes i have sad. In my town, and so my country too, it is too hard to find various of game. When I hear that Redbox delivers games and goodness, I felt so happy.Paying $ 2.00 in one night, wow it's very cheap. But still I felt so unhappy, Redbox isn't flirting in my country, Indonesia. I hope, Redbox does it soon. When it comes true, I guarantee that I will be the first to be the loyal consumer. Happy Gaming with Redbox!

I have seen a kiosk simalar here in Las Vegas, NV at my local Smith's store. It was called Gamebox and was sitting next to the Redbox kiosk. I jumped for joy when I first saw it as Redbox game rentals would be awesome, but as I got a closer look at it I found out the games are for purchace only. Maybe Redbox is testing both sales and rentals to see which is the better market? I dunno, but I would personally like to rent.
