PS3 Slim shortages?

I can't say I was really expecting the PS3 slim to sell all THAT well...considering quite how tacky and cheap the plastic on top looks, in addition to the fact that it's not all that much cheaper than the normal version, and those that wanted a PS3 would've surely bought that? Apparently I'm all wrong and everybody wants one, and due to this increased demand Amazon have started to limit it to one per customer... Hum, I'll be interested to see how first week sales pan out!
