PS3 Slim is the PS3 I Wish I Owned

It is official, Sony is releasing the PS3 slim in September, and it is a machine to be proud of. In fact, I am considering buying a new one myself depending on what Game$top will give me for my old one. The new PS3 slim is 33% smaller, 36% lighter, and will consume 34% less energy than the original. Over the life of the machine, it might very well pay for itself depending on how much of a gamer you are. The new PS3 will also have 2 USB ports, a 120GB HDD and embedded controls for Sony Bravia Televisions. Overall, it sounds like a great hardware revision. It will also run PS3 Firmware 3.0.
Firmware 3.0 you ask? That was Sony's other announcement today. Firmware 3.0 will be release withing weeks, and it also comes with some hefty improvements. Essentially, Sony PS3 firmware will include customizing features such as easy theme application and skinning of the UI, a host of social networking features, and a heavily revised PSN store.
