I wondered what device was going to power the $100 laptop after they took the hand crank out. Apparently, the Pull-Cord Generator from Potenco will do it. Just a minute of pulling on the pull-cord will give you a half an hour of cell phone talk time or three hours of time on your iPod Shuffle.

Now that's more like it. Better than that cheap hand-cranked cell phone charger I bought. Too bad this power charger comes attached to the $100 laptop.
