Portable USB Shredders Have But One Flaw

A couple of interesting portable USB-powered shredders that happened to sneak their way into my all-seeing gadget gaze today, both made by Kinland Industrial, Ltd. The Portable USB Paper Shredder (pictured) and the USB Mini Shredder & Letter Opener both feature a single USB connection for power and small size for portability – a great idea for anyone who needs to shred documents on the go. What they don't feature, however, is crosscut shredding – the style of shredding recommended for protection against identity theft. In other words: these portable shredders are a great idea in theory, but they might need to go back to the drawing board to be really practicable.

In a civil case, a judge can allow the jury to question a document-destroying party’s intentions. For example, judges in certain cases will tell jurors they should assume missing documents are harmful simply because they were destroyed–even if they never see the contents.

Thanks for the tip. I stayed up until the wee hours clunking and sorting all the crapola to be shredded. When I got to my Office Depot, not only was there no truck but nobody in the store knew anything about it.
