Phillips Wake-Up Light is My Kind of Alarm
Filed in archive Household Entertainment by Chris Matier on July 30, 2009
The Phillips Wake-Up Light has two primary features. First, it is an iPod and iPhone doc, and of course the alarm can make use of audio from your alarm to wake up with. Secondly, the Phillips alarm has a stunning, if not large, glowing globe that gently wakes the user up. The glowing bulb takes 30 minutes to reach its full glow. Essentially, you set the alarm for when you want to wake, and 30 minutes prior, it slowly begins to warm-up the room. At your desired wake-up time, you can supplement the light with FM radio, nature sounds, or the aforementioned iPod tunes.
The alarm is $199, which might be a turn off to many. Also, it does brighten the whole room, and so a partner might not appreciate it if you are on separate sleep cycles. If you are interested, the Phillips Wake-Up light Alarm Clock is model HF3490, and it will be available soon.
