Storage Stuff
by Andrew Garrett on June 12, 2005
It's about time we moved away from those spinning circular disc things. Not only are they slightly prone to scratches and fingerprints, they also involve making something inside a piece of sensitive electronics spin really fast, at really precise speeds while we point lasers at it. Something without moving parts (or, at least, with fewer, slower moving parts) should end up being cheaper to make, and longer lasting.
That's what we call progress.
