Today's entry: the Ultra Wide Band (UWB) wireless USB hub Japanese company Y-E Data shipped today. The YD-300 has a maximum range of about 10 meters, 480 Mbps data rate at 3 meters and 4 ports. It's got a power cord, so you don't need to worry about dead batteries, but that also means you're tied to another outlet to get power. Still, it's a big step forward if you've got a lot of devices you need to connect to your computer without being next to your computer.
Also: check out the comments on the DailyTech posting about this hub; they make some interesting points about UWB technology and its potential use for the future.

That would require a change in the USB specification, which currently allows power to flow from hubs to devices only. I think having devices power hubs would complicate things too much, especially when you consider the multi-level capabilities of USB (i.e., hubs feeding other hubs).
