Oh, the Corruption!
Not that it should come as any surprise (they are politicians, after all), but according to the New York Post, there are a New York City council members who are costing tax payers thousands of dollars a month in overage fees, because they haven't upgraded to cell phone plans with higher numbers of minutes. And these aren't tiny overages, either; the amounts, averaging at about $1700 a piece, would make the chatty teenagers from those cell phone commercials blush. Now here's the real question: were the council members just being dumb and wasting money, or is there some sort of conspiracy going on to get cell phone providers more money? How exactly do you miss the fact that you could have saved a great deal of money with five minutes of work?
