Okay, so we understand you like things to "just work", and be lovely and simple, but Apple this time you have gone too far. Removing a screen for the original shuffle was a good idea; you don't really need a screen in the gym, just a load of good tunes to get you pumping, and the ability to skip those you didn't really want.
So, with the new shuffle, they have removed control of your music from the player, and onto some proprietary headphones. That means that ANYONE who wants even remotely good sound quality will have to fork out for a 3rd party adaptor, adding to the already fairly high $80 cost for the 4gb.
Of course, by hitting a button you can get it to read out to you what is currently playing! Exactly what I always wanted!
