Nokia Develops Charger That Works on Bicycle Power

We often take for granted that when we plug something into the wall outlet, electrons flow into the device we hope to use. To that end Nokia has introduced a battery charger powered by the energy generated from riding a bicycle, targeting countries with limited access to electricity.
The new charger, which can be connected to any Nokia phone with a 2 mm charger jack, generates electricity from the rotation of the bike's wheel.
Nokia says that a 10-minute ride at 10 kilometers per hour (6 miles per hour) produces around 28 minutes of talk time or 37 hours of standby time.
The company said the charger, which comes with a holder to secure a phone to the bicycle, will go on sale for about $18 later this year.
