Nokia BL-5C Batteries Subject To Advisory

It seems we've had a rash of battery-related problems in laptops. Since mobile phones can, in some situations, replace a laptop, it seems only fair that they also get their fair share of battery problems. Actually, I'm surprised we haven't seen more of these kinds of problems, given there are way more mobile phones than there are laptops.
Nokia, the worlds leading mobile phone manufacturer, recently announced that BL-5C batteries manufactured by Matsushita Battery Industrial Co. Ltd. of Japan between December 2005 and November 2006 are subject to an advisory. In very rare cases the affected batteries could potentially experience over heating initiated by a short circuit while charging, causing the battery to dislodge. No explosions, thankfully, which is why this is only an advisory and not a recall.
Hit the link for the complete list of products and instructions for determining whether or not your BL-5C is subject to the advisory. If they are, then you can get the batteries replaced free of charge. Thankfully for me, of the 4 BL-5C batteries I have, none of them are subject to the advisory.
Update: This isn't really a recall, but rather an advisory. I have updated the article to reflect that.

Contrary to the “no explosions” line you said, there was a Filipina woman with a Nokia N91 that ended up wasted or otherwise pwned after an hour of regular charging… The wasted phone and battery was said to be sent to Finland for further investigation…
