Nokia decided to present new cellphones during the Capital Market Days, an event where "Nokia presents its expectations of overall industry developments and sets its targets for the next one to two years".

There were three cellphones presented - Nokia 6233, 6282, and the Nokia 6234 that it's the one I'm going to talk about for now.

The first thing you notice in the Nokia 6234 is the sequence of numbers (234), besides that, the made-for-Vodafone-only is also something that gets my attention, and lets not forget the 3G feature.

The design is exclusive to the big operator - Vodafone - and there are also other Voda things all over this cell, like: "start-up and shut-down graphics and tones, customized wallpapers, screensavers and ringtones."

Specs, specs... let's see: it has a camera included with 2 megapixels, a large 320 x 240 QVGA color screen, 3G service, supports microSD memory cards of up to 2 GB, digital music player (MP3, AAC, ETC), stereo speakers, FM tuner (in my opinion, every cellphone should have radio like this) bluetooth (duh), and not much more.

"We have worked very closely with Nokia over the last two years, with particular focus on developing more terminals which are Vodafone live! enabled," says Peter Bamford, Chief Marketing Officer, Vodafone. I talked about Vodafone sponsoring the UEFA Champions League last week, and for the true soccer maniacs this cellphone will become very handy.

In terms of battery: "4 hours of talk time on GSM networks (up to 3 hours of talk time via WCDMA) and up to 2 weeks of standby time". Damn... 2 weeks of standby, go figure.

No info about the price yet, it should be available to the Vodafone users starting next year.

A cellphone with a nice camera, a 3G connection and no way for Video Calls... unless you're in the WC and point the camera at the mirror.
