Nokia 5800 XpressMusic Is a Fine Music Player

True Story... I canceled two XM subscriptions this week. First, I wasn't happy with the rate hike, and then I was not happy with the going out of business death scream that XM/Sirus seems to be doing. Instead, I have been using an iPhone and FM transmitter. The system is not perfect, but it is doable... It also doesn't cost anything. The nokia 5800 XpressMusic Phone seems like it would be another XM / Sirus / Slacker Radio replacement for the car or anywhere else you need tunes.
The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic features 8GB of on board storage, and is expandable via MicroSD, an intuitive touchscreen, standard 3.5mm audio jack, and graphic equalizer. The sound quality is supposed to be quite good because of the music playing focus of the device. More importantly, the Nokia 5800 has on-board, great sounding, surround sound speakers that allow you to bypass the need for headphones altogether. So, what does the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic have that an iPhone doesn't have? Well, you are free from iTunes, you have full Bluetooth support (including headphone profiles) and Nokia lets you put any Symbian application or tweak out there on the phone. You don't need to jailbreak it to get full use of the device. Also, you are free of an iPhone data plan. Oh yeah, you have flash and java support via the web browser.
For a full, media driven experience, the Nokia 5800 XpresMusic is a great device. In my opinion, and for my needs, it rivals any phone currently on the market. For a cool $399, you can get the 5800 and rock it out yourself.
