Nintendo DSi Gets Possible Release date and Probable Price
Filed in archive Games by Chris Matier on January 15, 2009

According to Wikipedia, the Nintendo DS has sold over 84 Million units world wide. That is roughly one Nintendo DS for every man, woman, and child in the United States. In fact, you probably own a DS yourself. The next generation of the little handheld that could (sell) is already out in Japan, and it looks like it is heading stateside sooner then later.
For those of you unfamiliar with the Nintendo DSi, it designed much like the original DS with the addition of two .3 megapixel cameras, larger screens, external SD card support, and built-in audio playback. The DSi has been selling like hotcakes in Japan for a few months, but US gamers have had to be patient. Well, your patience may be rewarded soon, as several gaming rumor mills are reporting that the DSi should hit the streets in America in April of this year.
The screen isn't the only part that received an upgrade. Unfortunately the price is bigger too. Currently, the Nintendo DS costs a mere $129, but the DSi is rumored to run $180 -OUCH. Keep in mind, these are just rumors and rumors can change. But if it is true, is the DSi a big enough upgrade to substantiate the premium price? We shall see.
