NFC hits Malaysia
Visa has finally, almost a year after Nokia supplied the phone capable of it, rolled out NFC compatible payment terminals in Malaysia. What's NFC you ask? It's a very smart piece of technology which allows you to pay for things by linking your bank account and your phone together, in order to pay for items by simply waving your phone in front of a reader.
I can see this actually working out, with it slowly replacing credit cards and the like; but there is still a question of security; what if you lose your phone? will there be yet more hassle to go through in order to cancel your account?
I guess we will see if it ever makes it over here…
