That is the exact direction that Japanese Manufacturer Sanwa went in with their new wireless keyboard. They integrated a trackpad directly on the keyboard so that you won't need your mouse. You can use the trackpad like you would on a laptop. What would be great would be if it develops to be a multi-touch trackpad like the new sexy Macbooks are sporting.
Either way, cutting both the wires and a mouse makes a ton of sense. The wireless keyboard runs in the 2.4GHz spectrum so you might get a bit of interference if you are using it with a machine on a wireless network. Sanwa will release the new keyboard soon in Japan; no word yet on a stateside arrival.
