New Logitech Harmony 510 Does Its Job on the Cheap

If you haven't used a Logitech Harmony remote then you do not know what you are missing. The universal remotes are great for controlling multiple devices, they are very intelligent, and they can be updated with codes from your Mac or PC. Today, Logitech has quitely released the Harmony 510, an entry level remote with most of the great features that you expect from the harmony series. The device looks like many of the low-end devices, but it has a few things that set it apart.
What I like best about the Logitech Harmony remotes is that you can also program them with macros to automate technology tasks such as playing a movie or switching your whole AV system from TiVo to Satellite. The Logitech Harmony 510 can do all of the basics, but only for five devices. It does have the requisite LCD screen, gobs of buttons, and the USB connection for updating the device.
The Logitech Harmony 510 only costs $99 which makes it a sweet remote at a great entry level price. Give a harmony a try and you will never go back to your generic All-in-One again.
