One of the announcements that many Apple fans were already expecting was related to an upgrade to the iTunes software that is now on version 7. Along with the upgrade came the big change that everyone already knew about - a movie store integrated with the iTunes 7. No surprise here, they do have some competition on this area like Amazon that presented an online video store a few days ago called Amazon Unbox - at this time the Amazon store is better than
iTunes, one of the reasons is the Quantity/quality of movies available.
About the prices: for pre-orders the price is $12.99 - these kind of movies will be online during the same week they are released on DVD. For other movies such as the ones included on their Disney library, it can cost from $9.99 to $14.99 depending on the freshness of the title.
One feature that is bad and good at the same time is that the downloaded videos (close to DVD quality and with a 640x480 resolution) are DRM protected and will probably only be playable on your iPod and computer. Besides movies, the other great addition on iTunes are the iPod games available to download, each for $5. Other new features include Gapless playback, new interface and CoverFlow to find CD covers.
iTunes 7 is free, you just need to provide an e-mail address and the transfer will begin immediately.
