Neutron CE 6 Electric Lawn Mower is the Eco Friendly Evolution
I own an old Black and Decker Electric Lawnmower and I have loved it. I only spent a few hundred dollars on it, and over the life of the unit it has more than paid for itself. Unfortunately, the battery is weakening a bit, and it looks like it might be time for me to replace it. The design of the Neutron CE 6 puts my Black and Decker to shame, but it does share some of the other features I enjoy. It is nearly silent, powerful enough to clear out my whole yard, it has a mulching bag, and a 19" cutting path. The Neutron battery takes a full 12 hours to charge, and once it is charged, it can run approximately 60 minutes with a normal grass thickness. If you neglect your yard and have a forest out back, the battery may quit on you a bit earlier. Neutron believes in their products because they offer a 1 year return policy and a two year warranty, so the purchase is relatively risk free.
Electric lawnmowers do carry a premium over their traditional counterparts, but they are worth it. My five year old model paid for itself in its third year and it is cleaner, healthier, and quieter. the Neutron CE 6 runs $499, and refurbished units are available for $459.
