Netac Releases World’s Smallest Secure USB Drive

There are times when I wonder if smaller is really better and this is definitely one of them: Netac, the company that came out with the first USB flash drives in 1999, just released what they're claiming is the world's smallest secure flash drive and boy is it small: with dimensions of 2.07" L x .53" W x .22" H and a weight of .48 ounces, you'd be lucky if you don't lose it within 24 hours of buying it. The cool thing about it though is the security: the U220, which comes in sizes from 64 MB to 1 GB, can be formatted into secure and unsecure partitions of the owner's choice and shows up as two separate drives (secure and unsecure) in the My Computer drives list in Windows. The owner can also specify the number of password retries available to a user before the drive locks the data completely, rendering the secure portion of the drive unavailable until the drive is reformatted.
