NEC Votol
The NEC Votol is a perfume bottle-shaped unique design personal media player (PMP) with totally rich functionality. The "bottle cap" is actually a jog dial for controlling the PMP functions, and the battery level indicator indicated by how "full" the bottle is. It is fun and well designed. Votol supports all major video and music formats, and features an integrated 30GB disk, 2.7-inch 320×240 TFT, USB 2.0, and SD card expansion slot. A full charge yields 8 hours of music playback, or 4 hour of video.
The Votol is smarter than your average PMP. You can transfer files directly from SD card to its 30GB HDD, great for offloading photos. Also, when you turn the cap to switch playback modes, the Votol remembers where you left off in the proximate mode. So, if you go from song to video, and back to song, you can pick up the same drum solo where you left off. Besides, Votol's voice recognition translation engine, which can tell you the Japanese of a spoken English phrase, or visa versa, is an added bonus for this gadget.
