More dirt on Sony's PS3 and PSP

Filed in archive Just For Fun by Andrew Garrett on April 2, 2004

Biggest news? "PSP games won't be region-coded".

Region encoding is nothing but a way of shitting on your keenest fans, no matter what medium you're talking about. If i were to slavishly follow tthe dictates of the MPAA, I wouldn't have about half my DVD collectionlinks - as it is, I made sure my DVD player could be set up to ignore regions, just so I could import what I wanted to see. Half of my collection has been imported, and most of them still aren't available here in Region 4.

I broke their rules, to give them more money. Why are they making it harder for me to increase their profits?

Back to topic, it's good to see Sony thinking more clearly on this score.
