MMC Competitor to USB/SD Cards Announced

You know those SD cards with the USB connection built inside (like this one from SanDisk)? Well, for all of you MMC fans, there will soon be an MMC version called the MiCard. According to ZDNet UK, the MultiMediaCard Association has developed the MiCard standard as a competitor to the USB/SD cards and are hoping its adoption will be universal enough to someday see the addition of a MiCard port to electronics devices. With a starting capacity of 8 GB and a theoretical upper limit of 2 TB (!) the MiCard certainly has some nice potential, but what may really make it stand out is the insinuation that MiCards are less fragile than their SD counterparts.
