Microsoft to Release Their Own Handsets

Taking a chapter out of Google's book, it looks like Microsoft isn't going to be content to simply offer mobile operating systems much longer as indicated by their announcement to launch two of their own smartphones in either May or June.
The handsets are said to be designed with keyboards for easy texting with a focus on social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. Interestingly, rumors are floating around that suggest these cutting edge units may come equipped with Windows Mobile 6.5 rather than the all-new Version 7 due to existing software support for the older build.
At present the Microsoft phones (which will actually be manufactured by Sharp) appear exclusive to the Verizon Wireless Network.
