Mac versus PC: Still Rediculous

Mac vs. PC. It's a classic debate, fueled by years of acrimony and irreconcilable differences over usage, but in the end anyone who isn't a complete partisan will admit that each type of computer has its own strengths and weaknesses. Does that stop journalists from rehashing the same old points just to fill space? Of course not. In the latest iteration, MacDailyNews reports on a contest where two writers from The Gadget Show took their respective laptops (a MacBook and a Sony Vaio) to Italy to cover a festival in the town of Ivrea, where they would write, take pictures and shoot video using their cameras and the software included with OSX and Windows Vista. The Mac "won," to the joy of MacDailyNews, because of iLife, the software suite that includes video and picture editing capabilities and comes with OSX. What irritates me about this piece is duh, no kidding. We all know iLife is better than Windows Movie Maker, because those Switch commercials keep telling us so. Point taken – if you want to edit movies on your PC, you probably want a more robust piece of software. But if you want to play games on a Mac…oh wait, unless you're a World of Warcraft junkie, you can't really do that, can you. See where I'm going with this one?

Arguing about Macs vs. PCs is like the Special Olympics…nobody really wins and you are both retards.
