Logitech Z-5 Speakers Give New Direction to Surround Sound

When I lecture, I tend to have a presentation projector, my MacBook with a Wacom Tablet for notes, and a set of cheap (sub $100) PC speakers to push sound somewhere near my class. The end result tends to be some audience members get blasted with sound while others can't hear anything. The set-up is less than ideal, but it is affordable and portable. logitech has a set of "directionless" speakers that promise good sound, good value, and portability. If the Logitech Z-5 Directionless speakers are as good as they seem, I am sold.
These tall speakers are omnidirectional thanks to the sound grills on all sides. This allows sound to emanate rather than be projected. Also, they are powered and pull sound through a standard USB cable, thus reducing the amount of clutter and gear that need to be toted around. I know, USB powered speakers are typically pretty weak, but these promise to be loud and powerful.
The Logitech Z-5 Speakers would make an excellent addition to a room in which people mill about, or a situation like mine where an audience is seated in a auditorium style sitting. For $99, which is a great price if the speakers really do sound good, they might just be the thing I a looking for.
