Health and Fitness
by Chris Matier on July 15, 2009
Sometimes exercise and health requires a bit of gimmicky trickery. Not everyone is so keen on getting up and running or walking a few miles everyday; sometimes the right piece of technology or tool can serve as the missing motivation. The Live-Lite Fitness Aid, by Perception Digital, might just be that tool to get people moving. It has a vast range of features that will make exercise easier, if not more fun.
The PD6160, Live-Lite Fitness Aid serves as a pedometer, calories counter, social networking device, and MP3 player. The pedometer has the ability to track motion in 3D, so that it canautomatically distinguish between running, walking, and jogging. After it knows how you are moving, it calculates how many calories you are burning. To help it be as accurate as possible, it also tracks and monitor your heart rate. The Fitness Aid also provides spoken feedback including your pace, time left, and overallencouragement . Finally, because we tend to work harder when we are going to brag or beat one of our friends, the device also interfaces with Facebook.
Health and exercise are very important, and unfortunately, computers and technology often times interfere directly with getting in shape. With the PD6160 strapped onto your arm, you won't automatically turn into an athlete, but it might just be the motivation you need to get moving.
