Like Nintendo DS Lite, Only Sony

CVG has details on the revision of the PSP that rumors say Sony is planning for release in Japan in March 2007. The highlights:
- 8 gigs of flash RAM, necessary for when the PlayStation online network launches in November and people can start downloading PS1 games and movies. Also, people don't like UMDs
- A built-in camera, which can handle both still and moving images. Most likely for user-movement controlled games (like the Live Vision camera), but people will, of course, adapt it for their own uses (read: YouTube/Google Video movies).
- Thinner case, with a slot-loader for UMDs instead of the current flap, which has a tendency to pop open accidentally.
No word yet on the release date for the modified PSP anywhere outside of Japan.

My son would be pleased – I’d get the new PSP when it comes out in the UK and he could have my old one! Look forward to downloading some of the old PS1 games but only if they’re reasonably priced (or free)
