Laptopmag reviews HP Compaq nc6320 notebook

The HP notebooks I talked about yesterday, in this case, the nc6320 was reviewed by Laptop Mag, and got 4 out of 5 stars.

Praises go for:

  • the 15-inch LCD screen and it's display
  • long power cord (12 feet)
  • good sound quality
  • good durability – "A Mylar layer beneath the keyboard helps protect internal components from some spills, and an accelerometer can sense if the machine is falling and park the hard drive heads, so they don't damage the disk surface."

jamie Bsales, comments:

All told, the HP Compaq nc6320 has everything a business user could want. And at $1,799, it's attractively priced. If you had your heart set on a widescreen notebook, then the Dell D620 is a better choice. But other than that, this system is best for business notebooks.

I ran the utility to create \”recovery discs\” on my new laptop. It aborted. I registered and emailed tech support for a set of discs. I waited. I emailed again. I waited. Over 3 months, including two emails to the office of the CEO, Mark Hurd, this produced…NO EFFECTIVE COMPAQ SUPPORT!

My laptop is useless without recovery discs and I can\’t get normal support, escalated support, or support from the office of the CEO.

Will I ever recommend or buy Compaq or HP again? Not in THIS lifetime.
