LanRoamer TP500

My last house was wired with CAT5e in almost every room. One or two of the jacks had issues. In order to troubleshoot this and future problems, I bought a LanRover TP500 from Test-Um. Let's me know if the line is good and if not, which wires are bad/shorting.
In my new house, the only CAT5 cable I have is that which I run along the floor. To get some of the cable lengths I need, I have to use CAT5 couplers to connect two Ethernet cables together. I had some of these couplers lying around. Had no idea if they worked or not. Ran the coupled cable, tried it, no go.
I could have left it at that, but no, I had my LanRover. I checked the cables. The individual cables were fine, but when I introduced the coupler into the equation, it was showing miswires and reversed pairs. Fun.
In finding a picture for this blog post, I discovered that Test-Um got acquired by JDSU and the product is now renamed the LanRoamer TP500. Same product, different name, still useful. At least to people like me.
