LaCie Drive Lockdown: Mobile

LaCie Drive Lockdown: Mobile
You may recall the LaCie biometric desktop hard drive I blogged about back in early September. As it turns out, LaCie also makes a portable version of the safelinks drive called, cleverly enough, the SAFE Mobile Hard Drive. The idea behind the drive is the same as its big brother: triple layer of security, fingerprint access, etc. all within a more easily portable frame.

Everything USB was curious enough to find out if the SAFE Mobile was worth the investment, particularly after LaCie upgraded the encryption to 128-bit and extended it from the biometric pad only to the entire drive, making it much more difficult to hack in and steal your data. The result? It's not the easy backup system to use, but the SAFE Mobile seems worth a look if you're particularly security-concious. You can read Everything USB's review here.
