KVH ties up with Microsoft for mobile TV

In recent events, KVH and Microsoft have teamed up to bring the TV service to cars and other vehicles (including boats) to the people across the United States.
Sam Klepper, general manager for the MSN TV, comments: "With the availability of MSN TV service on KVH's Mobile Internet Receiver, consumers will now be able to communicate, access information, and enjoy digital entertainment wherever their travels may take them"
The kind of connection is always one of the most important aspects on things like this, so I'll let you know that this MSN TV service will make use of an EV-DO (Evolution Data Optimized) modem. KVH will integrate this into the receiver.
And what about speed connection? The maximum is 2.4 Mbps, but the normal stays around the 400 Kbps to 700 Kbp mark. If for some reason the EV-DO is not available, there will be another service – 1xRTT data service – with speeds averaging 50 Kbps to 80 Kbps, and 144 Kbps of maximum upload and download.
