Tech News Around The World

South Korea is referred to as "The Broadband Capital Of The World." There's broadband. Everywhere. Even mobile. Fast enough to watch TV on your mobile, even!
However, many parents in South Korea are concerned that their children are spending too much time using the Internet from their mobile phones! Problem is, almost all handsets sold there include Internet capabilities. Finding a service provider and a device that offers an Internet-free phone is difficult.
I'd say this is a pretty universal problem. I'm hard-pressed to find a simple handset these days here in the US just for the older members of my family, let alone ones without internet access of some sort. Of course here, the "mobile broadband" really isn't and the mobile Internet experience leaves quite a bit to be desired in the US.
As for my kids getting mobile phones, they are too young for that. If they get mobile phones, it will be either be prepaid, or it will be a postpaid plan with the ability to set strict limits on usage. I know better than to give my kids a blank check, which is basically what you do when you give them a mobile phone.
Do you have kids? How do you handle, or plan to handle, this situation? Leave your feedback in the comments.
