It’s Your Only Way to Fight the Machines. Really.

Intranetics Motoring News Service just posted an interesting piece about the results of a survey conducted by Saga Motor Insurance in the UK. According to this survey, more 3.5 million drivers try to trick their satellite navigation system by taking a different route than the one the navigation system recommends just to see how it reacts, mainly because they don't trust the technology (a lack of trust that the survey says is especially prevelant in users over 50).
Although the idea of trying to trick the satellite navigation system you paid good money for seems pretty ludicrous to me, the other subject of the article is even funnier: people are following their nav system so slavishly that they actually drive into rivers, off cliffs, into houses…places where cars don't go and where their drives should know they don't go.
