Recently, my wife and I went shopping at Staples for a number of different things, including a new laptop bag for her. I wasn't previously aware of this phenomenon, but apparently women do not like the standard black laptop case that I'd be perfectly happy with - there's actually a whole line of bags aimed specifically at women, completely with more stylish lines, a few more colors beyond black and the ability to act as both laptop bag and purse. Knowing that, I'm not surprised about the existence of GadgetSleeves.com, a company that creates custom-made protective sleeves for a variety of gadgets: iPods, cameras, laptops, palms, etc. Designed with color and style in mind, they come off looking like something your hippy aunt would make to while away a cold winter evening (and they're certainly not made for operating the gadget while it's inside the case), but I can see how they'd make a lot of people happy this Christmas.
