iPhone: Can It Make Calls?

iPhone: Can It Make Calls?

While there is more and more functionality being crammed into mobile phones these days, let's not forget what their primary function is: making calls. There's a rather lengthy review on Mobile Review comparing the Apple iPhone to other phones when it comes to making calls.

The cliif notes version of this review is that the iPhone, with it's slick buttonless Touch-screen UI can make calls-obviously-but the time it takes to make a call is at least twice as long as it does on any other phone. If you make a lot of calls, you will actually waste time using an iPhone.

Personally, I'd have a hard time using a fully touch-screen phone to make calls. I'm playing with a HTC Mogul at the moment, which also has a touch screen, and it's a challenge to make calls on it to people not in my phonebook. I would imagine the same would be true on an iPhone.

What say you, iPhone owners? Let me know what you think in the comments.
