iBreath, the iPod Breathalyzer

iBreath, the iPod Breathalyzer

David Steele Enterprises, a company whose name sounds like it might be a competitor for the dollars of Jenna Jamison's company and that specializes in such "as seen on TV" gadgets as the USB Digital Bible Keychain, Pasta Express and Wireless Spy Camera Video Pen has a new product out for the holiday season: the iBreath.

iBreath, you say? Like you breath into it? Exactly. Aimed at reducing incidents of drunk driving (yours for only $79.99!), the iBreath is BAC wand/Breathalyzer crossed, oddly enough, with an FM transmitter so you can rock out on the nearest FM stereo while you see if you're too drunk to drive. Breath into the wand and five second later you get a readout. The manufacturers topped the readout at 0.12 to discourage use in drinking games, so you might be a lot drunker than the iBreath say you are, but more importantly, as the sheriff in this article points out, unlike real Breathalyzers, the iBreath isn't regularly calibrated, so using it may not keep you out of prison.
