How to get Inside Microsoft’s Xbox 360
I haven't talked about the Xbox 360 yet (I will make a big post about it soon), but this is something I couldn't miss, and it serves pretty good for the new category – How To… – It will have a nice How To article related to iPods tomorrow, or maybe today if I still have time.
The people at anandtech were some of the lucky ones to get a Xbox and decided to open it up, check everything that is inside. The best thing about this is that a "tutorial" with plenty of photos, and with all the procedures to undress the Xbox 360 was created.
Beware: if you decide to do this yourself and open up your Xbox, the warranty will no longer serve.(you can put it in your garbage can)
The following tools are needed:
- Three torx screw drivers in the following sizes: T6, T7 and T12
- One small flat head screw driver or small and thin wedge
- A 2 inch long and thin (roughly 1.5mm thick) metal stick
- A 2 inch long and flat (less than 1mm thick) plastic or metal stick
- A pair of thin pliers
As said before, the tutorial covers every move – 10 pages – and the first step is to remove the outer shell like you see in the photo below:
