Hitachi 1.5
It appears that thin is in when it comes to HDTV's, and Hitachi is most certainly no exception to this rule. Hitachi's newest model is the 1.5, named because that is the measurement of its thickness in inches. I realize this might not be much compared to the 9mm Project KURO from Pioneer that I covered yesterday, but the 1.5 is farther along than the development stage.

The features include a Similarity Based Image Retrieval System, which is a search engine for large-scale image and video archives. Another feature is Personal video sharinglinks, which allows the transfer of video between two homes without the use of a PC. The 1.5 also allows for wireless HDTV content as well as IPTV User Interface.

The 1.5 should be available early this year, and you can find out more information on the Hitachi in North America site.
