Hatin’ on LEDs
Christopher Null of Yahoo! Tech has a problem with LED status Lights – specifically the blinking ones that don't seem to add much to his gadget-using experience (he's not the only one, actually – Mike Elgan of ComputerWorld feels the same way). I'm not sure I agree – I'm not entirely sure why he's sleeping in same room as his DVD player, for one thing, but more importantly, looking around at my in-reach gadget collection, I don't see anything where a LED isn't useful or unnecessarily bright. Maybe I've become used to their long-lasting glory, or maybe Messrs Null and Elgan haven't figured out how to adapt.
