Harman/Kardon Drive + Play 2

Harman/Kardon Drive + Play 2

Looking to turn your car into a mobile entertainment system; the kind that goes beyond a simple faceplate and four speakers and moves into Full Musical Control (with necessary capitals)? If so, Harman/Kardon's updated version of their Drive + Play system, the Drive + Play 2, might strike your fancy. Billed a "mobile media manager," the Drive + Play 2 claims to work with almost any mp3 player out on the market, includes a wireless control modeled on the iPod clickwheel for scrolling through menus, displays album art, has a few automation modes to help you figure out what to play on your ride and a built-in software voice so you don't need to look away from the road to know if you're about to pick "A Fifth of Beethoven" or Beethoven's fifth. Optional attachments to the Drive + Play 2 give you caller ID via Bluetooth and Sirius Satellite Radio control. I don't normally lust for these sorts of gadgets, but I could definitely make an exception in this case.
