I know, worldwide demand for fuel is low, therefore oil prices are low, and because of that, gas prices are low. Wouldn't it be nice to keep them that way? Think of all the gadgets and gizmos you could purchase if gas prices stayed this way for a good long time. If you are interested in cutting fuel use and cost back a little bit, you should check out the Gocycle, a new, electric bike that is energy efficient and stylish.
The Gocycle, produced by Karbon Kinetics, is light, foldable, and perfect for zooming around city streets. The injection molded magnesium frame, 250 Watt and 9Ah NIMH battery weigh in at just 35 pounds. The battery plus pedal power has a range for 6 - 20 miles (or 3.5 hours), and unlike other battery powered vehicles, it will still operate if the juice is gone.
200 prototypes are currently being field tested. The units, available now for pre-order, will run $1300 until January when the price bumps to $1700. Depending on your commute and current gas prices, that might be a heck of a deal.
