Toshiba has developed the technology required to allow consumers with camera equipped cell phone to take a picture of the products bar code and get product reviews of the item from the web via the phone. This is perhaps the coolest use of a camera phone I can think of.
How often have we all stood staring at a selection of products wondering which would best suit our needs. To be able to snap a quick pic of the bar code and get product reviews from the web via your cell phone would be so cool.
It is reported that Toshiba plans to begin testing the software in Japanese stores next month and offer it as a service on cell phones by March of 2007. Via Seattlepi.nwsoucre.com
