Gentlemen, I Believe We're Ready to Drop the Bomb

If you've heard of Bosch before, it was probably because you saw some of their products in a Home Depot – they're a toolmaker. However, just because you make hammers, screwdrivers and power tools doesn't mean you can't get into the iPod game too, as Bosch proves with the Power Box. Yes, that's right: that monstrous thing is an iPod dock, which promises to charge your iPod while it plays music (either from the iPod or from the internal CD player through the large speakers on the front. By the way, those metal pipes on the outside? They're meant to protect your iPod in case the box gets knocked over. The iPod case screws on to the side and has enough plastic to stop a bullet – or at least prevent any sort of shock to the hard drive. All of this probably seems pretty odd to the average gadget geek (Gizmodo didn't really know what to make of it, even though they knew it was meant for construction sites), but then again, imagine if a brick falls off the house you're working on and hits the Power Box? Wouldn't you want your iPod to still work during and after the accident?
