Gefen Introduces PVRs With USB Export Capabilities

Another pieces of cool news out of CES: Gefen announced on the 8th that they're going to be releasing two new personal video recorders (PVR) – one hi-def enabled, one not – that work like your standard DVR that you get from your cable company, except that it includes an USB output and the ability, via an on-screen menu, to save the content you've recorded to any USB device, so you can play it somewhere else. You can also use it to download and transport information from a digital camera.
Personally, I think this idea is a fantastic one, especially if you do a lot of recording, but I can see the MPAA thinking otherwise, with their usual whiny complaints about people stealing things instead of paying for them, or some such garbage. Gefen told Everything USB that the units would be coming out next month, but I wonder if a lawsuit will keep this great idea from ever hitting the shelves.
