The lava lamp: amusing, hypnotizing, colorful…USB? Yes, that's right, Lava World International, the company that first produced lava lamps commercially about 40 years ago, has a new version that gets its wax-melting power from a USB port instead of a power outlet. I guess a USB lava lamp would be useful if you had a shortage of outlets and a plethora of USB ports (or if you felt the need to bring a lava lamp with you on the road along with your laptop), but then again, when has the lava lamp ever been about anything but novelty?
