OK. I can understand why Apple don't formally announce these things in advance. Really I can. It would kill sales of the current range for months on end.

But I want to buy a powerbook.

I've been planning one for a few months. I've got the money together. It's a lot of money, and I want this machine to last me for a good 2-3 years. I don't, however, want to buy a model that will be replaced 3 months after I buy it, filling me with upgrade lust.

So, I guess I'm waiting for another 3-6 months, to see if this rumour has a basis in reality. I guess I'm sticking with the iMac and an external 20" monitor (with the OpenFirmware hack on the iMac to give me dualhead.)

Nicht, dass ich mich mit den Produktzyklen bei Apple auskenne, aber eigentlich wäre ein G5 Powerbook schon ganz angebracht. Aus meiner Sicht mehr als angebracht. Seit es vor kurzem Meldungen gab, nach denen sich versehentlich ein Gif mit dem verheißu...
