I was able to get my hands on the coolest surge Protectorlinks I have ever seen, the Flexity PowerSquid Surge Protector SQ3K Calamari. The unit I have is a pre-production model and the Flexity PowerSquid Surge Protector is to be available in the spring of 2006.

The coolest thing about the Flexity PowerSquid Surge Protector is the tentacle like cords you plug your electronic devices into. We have all had surge protectors before where we were only able to use a fraction of the surge protectors available power receptacles due to bulky plugs and power supplies common with electronics. That is not the case with the PowerSquid. Click the blue link below for the rest of the review.

The Flexity PowerSquid Surge Protector allows you the ability to use each of its six power receptacles, thanks to the unique design of the plugs allowing you to connect any cord to them no matter the size of the adapter or plug on your electronics.

In addition to the cool power receptacles, the Flexity PowerSquid Surge Protector has many other features that make it a top notch surge protector. The Flexity PowerSquid Surge Protector uses Ultra-MOV technology for better performance with 100% construction of 130V Ultra-MOVs with 330V clamping wired in parallel.

The Flexity PowerSquid Surge Protector also includes a great warranty for equipment connected to it ranging from $100,000 to $500,000 depending on the model purchased, the one I have has a $500,000 warranty. The Flexity PowerSquid Surge Protector also has hi frequency EMI/RFI noise reduction filters to improve performance and protect equipment with available 40dB or 58dB ratings.

In addition to the six power receptacles, the Flexity PowerSquid Surge Protector can protect your phone or DSL line and your cable connection. These are important features, I have had lightning strikes fry modems before when using surge protectors that did not protect phone lines and cable lines as well as power.

The Flexity PowerSquid Surge Protector also uses a Tripwire feature fail-safe that prevents catastrophic events from damaging your equipment if the surge capacity is overwhelmed. Protection is provided from both transient surges, like lightning strikes, and over-voltages possibly caused from faulty wiring or appliances.

The Flexity PowerSquid Surge Protector also has cool looking blue LEDs that illuminate two of the tentacle power receptacles, and put out enough light to actually allow you to see all six receptacles in dark environments.

The cord that plugs the Flexity PowerSquid Surge Protector into the wall outlet is very long at eight feet and includes a really cool 360 degree rotating plug assembly to make it easier to connect to your wall power. The MSRP for the Flexity PowerSquid Surge Protector I reviewed is $79.95.

The Flexity PowerSquid Surge Protector is a great product and very welcome in my office, I am sure many others will feel the same way. You can go to the Flexity website and pre-order a Flexity PowerSquid Surge Protector now and get free shipping on your pre-order.
