Displays
by Jordan Grodecki on November 21, 2008

Today, most televisions and displays are LCD, with a few high end Plasmas thrown in there, but sony have been keen to step up to the next set of technologies, namely OLED, and now, FED.
Sony have been demoing FED, which stands for Field Emmission Display recently, with a quad PS3 setup running a 240fps version of Grand Turismo 5. That's right, 240fps; the TV can handle motion quite that fast!
It's an impressive peice of tech which also features fantastic responce times and absolutely mindblowing contrast ratios; but it's expensive. Designed for professional use, it's likely to stay that way. Unfortunate, really.
